Laminate surfaces offer exceptional durability, standing up well to everyday wear and maintaining their sleek finish with minimal upkeep. They’re easy to clean and resistant to most stains, making them a practical choice for busy spaces. However, while durable, laminate is vulnerable to sharp or rough objects that can scratch or chip the surface. Unlike natural wood, these types of scratches and damages are not possible to repair. Proper care and gentle use help keep laminate surfaces looking beautiful for years to come.

Our furniture is handcrafted using plain-sawn wood and small-batch finish formulas. Because we work with natural materials, color and grain patterns will vary between samples and from finished piece to piece. No two items will be identical, something we consider part of the charm. Please note that aging and light exposure may change the look of your piece over time.

All made to order, custom furniture is final sale and not eligible for return. If your order arrives damaged or defected, please reach out to hello@shopbrunel.com within 48 hours of delivery for assistance.

Wood Finishes: Solid wood is a living material that responds to its environment, especially temperature and moisture changes. Slight cracking is not unusual. Maintain consistent humidity levels to prevent warping. For daily care, dry dust and wipe with a slightly damp microfiber cloth. Dry residual moisture with a clean cloth. Kindly avoid harsh chemicals, bleaches, degreasers, or other heavy duty cleaners. To further preserve your piece, use coasters, placemats, and felt pads. For yearly maintenance, a rehydrating furniture oil can revive the luster of your wood finish, we recommend Brunel’s Furniture Butter.

Pigmented Ash and Painted Finishes: Pigmented and painted wood is a living material that responds to its environment, especially temperature and moisture changes. A rehydrating furniture oil is NOT recommended for pigmented or painted finishes.

Laminate: To care for furniture with a laminate finish, regularly dust with a soft cloth, wipe away dirt and grime with a damp microfiber cloth using mild dish soap or a vinegar-and-water solution, and then immediately dry with a separate dry cloth to prevent water damage. Avoid abrasive cleaners, bleach, ammonia, waxes, oils, and harsh chemicals, which can cause damage, discoloration, or a cloudy appearance. Always use trivets for hot objects and maintain stable humidity levels to prevent heat or moisture damage.
